I began my work as a labor and birth doula in 2002 as a volunteer doula for Sutter
Davis Birth Center.
After attending my first birth as a doula I knew I had found my calling and passion in life. I then completed my training
through DONA in 2004 as a private labor and birth doula. Witnessing the beautiful transformation of a woman and her partner
in birth as they become a family is my most sacred work.
My goal as your
doula is to first meet with you and listen to what your thoughts, feelings, desires for your birth are, and then to work together
with you and your partner to support you in having a beautiful birth experience. I believe women already have everything they
need inside of them to birth their babies naturally and it is my role to help remind you of that and to support your partner,
enhancing your bond and birth experience.
My services include,
a no obligation interview where I will come to you so we can meet and discuss any questions or thoughts you may have. I will
encourage you to take a few days after my departure to think of how it would feel for me to be at your birth, as my number
one priority is that you have the right doula for your family. Once hired I will meet with you for two pre-natal visits, including
a “hands on” comfort measures workshop and an affirmation session. I will meet you as soon as you wish for your
labor at your home, or the place of birth and will stay with you until 1-2 hours after the birth of your baby. I can provide
additional breastfeeding support if needed. I will then arrange to meet at your home for a postpartum appointment where I
will present your birth story. We will then close the “doula-client” relationship and move forward as friends.
I am still in awe
of the wonderful families that allow me to witness the most sacred event of their lives and it is a blessing to my life to
serve women and their families.
Warmest Birth Blessings
to you-
